Glenfiddich's "Our Solera 15" Single Malt is aged for 15 years in a combination of ex-sherry and new oak casks. After this primary maturation, the whisky is blended in a large vat that contains whisky from previous batches of this release. Since the "Solera" vat is never emptied, a small percentage of very old whisky is present in every bottle. The nose offers rich scents of vanilla, honey, and orchard fruit with a bit of baking spice in the background. On the palate, sweet nougat and marzipan open the sip with cinnamon, raisin, and apple notes in the mix as well. The finish is light and pleasant with honied fruits and a touch of spice. Bottled at 40% abv.
