Description:
This is a collection of violin pieces by composers who wrote works linking England and France. The work by Dilius, a representative of this genre, is placed at the beginning of the album. in his late twenties, he studied in Paris, and during the eight years he spent there, he thoroughly enjoyed the air and culture of the city, writing many works, including this "Violin Sonata in B major," although he was not recognized for them. The sonatas of Ierland, who was younger than Ravel, combine Edwardian elegance with French Impressionist style, while Debussy's last sonata is a masterpiece that expresses deep emotion. Here, along with Cyril Scott's small pieces influenced by Ravel and Debussy's works, Ravel's "Pieces in Habanera Form" arranged by Heifetz, and Bax's "Mediterranean Sea," Hawick and Callahan will explore the common threads of each piece.
