Monarda 'Jacob Cline' (Bee Balm), a clump-forming perennial with large blossoms and exceptional disease tolerance, has bright red flowers in thick, globular terminal heads. From mid-summer to early fall, they bloom for weeks and draw a large number of butterflies and hummingbirds. They are supported by a whorl of ornamental dark-purple bracts. Dark green leaves that are deliciously fragrant and may be eaten in salads or just by passing by perfectly complement their brilliant hue. One of the nicest red Monarda cultivars is called "Jacob Cline." It is among the most mildew-resistant materials in the entire US.
