Rather odd, with a false brand stamp ascribing the bow to Prosper Colas, but demonstrating rather pleasing playing properties and well selected pernambuco, this violin bow represents an affordable step up for the advancing student; a player’s bow. Though it doesn’t have great commercial value, I see this bow outperforming more expensive alternatives. To be clear, it is not the work of Prosper Colas, nor is it even remotely French in pattern. If anything, the head looks to be more English modeled, but I should think the bow was intended to be an Eastern European knock-off. With a weight of 63.5 grams, this item would also be suitable as an outdoor or backup bow for a more seasoned musician.
