Formed in 1972 by Andy Partridge, Colin Moulding, Terry Chambers, and Barry Andrews, XTC signed with Virgin Records in 1977 and became popular for their unique pop sound in the New Wave movement of the time. In 1979, Dave Gregory joined the group following the departure of Barry Andrews, and in 1982, Terry Chambers left the group to form the three-piece XTC. 1986's "Skylarking," produced by Todd Rundgren, was an international hit. However, the band is now virtually inactive, with only Andy Partridge remaining. Influenced by the Beatles, the Beach Boys, and psychedelic rock, XTC's sound is full of originality and has greatly influenced Japanese musicians. XTC's live archive of their different sound styles is finally being released on CD! XTC's "English Settlement", released in February 1982, was a steady success with each album release, reaching No.5 on the UK Albums Chart and No.48 on the US Albums Chart. However, the band, tired of the hard schedule of concert tours, decided not to tour with the release of the new album, but to promote the album with only 11 concert tours in the US and Europe ("English Settlement Tour"). XTC has not played any more concerts since then...) XTC has not performed any concerts since...). During this limited tour, a concert in Amsterdam, the Netherlands on March 8 of the same year was recorded and broadcast as a special program on a local radio station. The set list on that day included 18 songs from the new album "English Settlement," including encores, but two songs were cut from the broadcast due to performance problems, and this album is a recording of the broadcast. The live performance faithfully reproduces the songs from the new album, which is said to have established the XTC sound, and shows not only the high quality of XTC's musicality but also their greatness as a live band.This live album, which captures the band's last tour as a band, is a long-awaited release for fans.
