Low molecular weight hyaluronic acid in the form of sodium hyaluronate is a stable form of hyaluronic acid consisting of hydrophilic molecules of glucuronic acid and N-acetyl-glucosamine. It has very strong water-binding properties (one molecule of hyaluronic acid is able to bind around 250 water molecules).
