The first album by Morning, formed in Southern California with Jay Lewis, a late member of Love (an LA rock band led by Arthur Lee), is based on the West Coast country rock of the same era represented by CSN&Y, but with more piano than guitar. The lyrical touch of the piano is even more impressive than the guitar. The natural sound and harmonies created by the self-produced and arranged music give the album a pleasant laid-back feel that is unique to the band and not found in major-label bands. (C)RS
